“We had a lovely stay in April cottage for Christmas. It was just perfect the weather wasn’t brilliant but that didn’t matter the area is well worth a visit in any weather. The cottage was as good as shown on the internet. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. All in all we had a wonderful relaxing stay worth every penny.”

“We had a splendid time in this beautifully presented and very well equipped cottage (the double bed was sumptuously comfortable!). We were only on a short, 4 day visit, but the cottage is fantastically located allowing us to visit the haunts of Bodmin Moor, Port Issac (the village was crammed with Doc Martin fans vying for photo shots of the houses and locations that appear in the TV series, throughout the place – but it was a great pleasure to talk with shopkeepers, in the village, that all gave us delightful insights into the shows actors and the whims of filming in the village. We also visited Plymouth to stroll around the marina and harbour and partake of a tipple or 2 at some of the local pubs. After a days sightseeing and imbibing at local hostelries, it was magical to get back to the cottage, fire up the wood burner and snuggle up for the evening – WE’D GIVE THE COTTAGE A PERFECT 10 out of 10!!”

”We booked April Cottage for five nights and we absolutely loved it. Clean cottage, comfortable bed, great wood burner for cold nights, well equip kitchen and a homely feel. Matt and Elana got this spot on and we will definitely return!”

“Everything you could possibly want from a holiday cottage. Stunning area, great pubs, comfy, cosy and elegant accommodation. We had a wonderful time here.”

“The pictures just do not do this property the justice it deserves; it is very light and airy with plenty of space, a beautiful and well presented property. Right on the boarder with Cornwall and Dartmoor, so lots to see and do. Princetown on the Moors is a beautiful place where you can visit Dartmoor Museum, which was built between 1806-1809; Church of St Michael and All Angels was later built by the prisoners. We recommend a visit to the Tavistock Inn on the Moors, where you are greeted with a warm friendly welcome, real ale and local freshly cooked food is available. Tavistock town has a large indoor Pannier Market selling allsorts, a very informative museum and numerous other interests:- Tavistock is the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake. In the porch of April Cottage there are plenty of leaflets and maps to give you ideas. The only problem I found was due to the bath being deep, and me being vertically challenged I struggled to climb in & out…..lol”

“Incredible stay at Elana’s Cottage right next to Dartmoor’s natural reserve. It is a very nicely decorated cottage that has that warm and cosy feel that you’re looking for in a cottage. The weather wasnt kind on us when we drove there and the road where floaded but when we got there, it was such a relieved ! Elana’s made our stay very nice by leaving us some breakfast for the next day and providing with useful information and great recommandations about the things to do and see (and where to eat) near the cottage. We hope to come back when the weather will be better and for a longer stay. We highly recommand her place. 5 stars !”

“April cottage is exactly as it appears on the website – a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. It is warm and cosy and the beds are extremely comfortable. During our visit the weather was very good and we were able to sit on the terrace area overlooking the stream and beautiful countryside. The owners could not be more helpful.”

“Lovely cottage.”

“We had a lovely stay at April cottage. The cottage is very cosy. It was lovely and relaxing hearing the bubbling rush of the river just outside. We slept well in the biggest bed in the world and the duck down topper made it so toasty and warm. We enjoyed some wonderful walking on the moors, seeing ponies and strange stones. Looking forward to visiting again soon.”

“We would thoroughly recommend April Cottage, it is well situated to explore a beautiful part of the world, the property is well maintained and the host was helpful from start to finish.”

“The cottage itself is located in Chillaton, right next to a genuine babbling brook! The cottage has lots of nice touches – a woodburning stove (if you happen to be visiting in the colder seasons), plenty of information about the area, all the cooking facilities you could need – even a map and compass if you want to visit the nearby moors.”

“This was my first ever trip to Devon (shocking!) but I am very keen to go back sooner rather than later as I feel I only scratched the surface of this beautiful part of the world. This cottage will certainly be very high on the list of places to stay on my return as it will be hard to beat the location and comfort with anywhere else.”
